| There's nothing wrong with having your service done elsewhere, absolutely nothing like the dealer is trying to tell you. However, you do get an upper hand for your argument when your car actually fails, they would have no reason to refuse to fix it under warranty, and sometimes, outside warranty.
John Newell always charges extra for wheel rotation, so I simply go somewhere else for my tyre care. Apart from that, they haven't missed a beat on my services, so I'm quite happy about them. One more bad thing about them, is they charge quite much for loan car, which is $45, but offset by their slightly cheaper service.
BTW, dealers do accept haggling even for service cost, and would give you a bit more discount if you are loyal to them.
