Bahahah that will make it the second weekend away of the month. I'm headed down to the Bunya Mountains with my bike club for the same reason. We head down Saturday, piss it up at the awesome log cabin and visit the local wineries, then head home on Sunday/Monday. Actually it's the weekend before this one!

well i was just planning for a long distance day trip, returning Northbound about 2pm'ish, but I will look into some accomm options and post back up soon....
for those in the "Commented but not Committed" section, a yes or maybe or no ? so you can be sorted ;-)

That does say to go via the Gateway, which we won't be, but I thought it was a bit further than that.
Going by Google Maps, it doesn't even look that far south of Tweed, which would be convenient for visiting the rellies.

Well, cousins live in Banora Point and Chinderah, so a bit south of the main Tweed area, and 110km/h highways down there too - well some are anyway - so not too far.
I'm assuming we're going the main highway, which bypasses the Buringbar range or something - cops around there last I heard. A lot of people down there seem very "anal" about sticking to the limit too.
