Hi,
I'm not quite sure if this has been answered before but i am just recently the new owner of a mazda2 neo and was wondering if the cx-7 antenna will fit on my car?
If not what other short/stubby replacements have you found to be good.
Thanks
Lisa

i got mine from parklea markets
in my link in the mod 2 and the shop that has it, u will see I linky to a japanese site that actually sell the part and the photo also!!!!
Oh Great!
Can someone please tell me how I can buy this thing as everything is in Japanese.
you can buy it from mazda. Just ask for a BK MPS antenna or buy the new gen 3 hatch antenna
Why not thank me a few times

Yes, the CX7 short stubby rubber antenna will fit on your 2, I had one on my 2 purchased from Mazda for around $23...
is it DIY? the 2 antenna socket, unlike conventional is not a screw 'em hole
it is sort of a slot and screw thingy![]()
err?
no idea.. we fitted one on Dave [MPS 2] green beast and also put one of my friends sisters 2 maxx 09
Why not thank me a few times

off to JN to get a rx8 stubby next week!!!
$23 what a deal!!!!!
*this is coming off my porridge money![]()
I wonder if a short antennae will look good mounted in the front. Most short stubs are mounted near the rear.
Would really be great if some of you would be kind enough to post some photos.
We can all tell you how it looks then. I'd love to get one, but my imagination fails me. Photos please anyone?
I just picked up a cx-7 antenna and it fits well on my neo
I like the stubby look better and my reception is the same, although i only listen to FM channels.
it looks quite nice from what I can see but it is a very close up pic, I imagine it would not look too bad from afar. Did you have to twist and turn the previous coats hanger antenna to put this one in? What about the fact that it has this up down slider? Does that move when u change? I tried to twist the current antenna the other day and I could not unscrew it at all, might have to get JN to teach me how to do it.
How much did u pay for your stubby?
I'll give it a try
I remember it as clock face forward tighten
back in time backwards of clock face, loosen
Maybe mine is a little tight, WD 40 when u need it. But wait, I need to get the stubby first![]()
THanks for the photos Vostar. Did you take any with the whole car in the picture? Would be nice to see how the entire car looks in totality with the shorter stub.
I did a bit of Aerospace Engineering at Uni, and I know for a fact that changing from the long thin antenna to the short stubby one will significantly cut your drag at higher speeds.
I remember we used to work out how the wire type antennae in aircraft affected fuel economy.
A photo with the car in totality would be good.
I have a stubby antenna on my 2 which came off a SP23
The Bubble has me zoomin again as the 2 has gone to heaven....![]()
I would have thought the short stubby one will Increase your drag as opposed to decrease. The short stubby one would create a bigger distribuance at the back of the airflow and also because of the 'skin effect'/greater surface area. For example, all supersonic planes are all thin by default.
Anyway, I doubt changing from one type of antennae to another would make that much difference as the car only travels in relative low speeds and it won't alter the drag coefficient.
The irony is, from F1, we are all told that drag = down force = good. In reality, the speed that normal car travels, we are unlikely to lift off any time soon, therefore, the spoiler = more drag = more fuel burnt = more down force on the back wheel when most Mazdas are front wheel drive. In short, we are wasting money.
there's so much I haven't learn at Uni, geeze, no wonder peeps say so what if u got a degree, it don't mean shit until u have experience, lots of it. Years of it.
I remembered many many years ago, Volkswagen made it a selling point that their antenna is revolutionary ( this was over 10 years ago) in that it has a coil around it so that it deflects sound and also does not interfere with wind drag.
How times have change and now those VW antenna with a coil around it are nowhere to be seen.
