    Newbie Remote Lock trouble

    Hi all,
First poster and newbie member from Brisbane
I have just bought a 2005 Mazda 3 Maxx Sport sedan and it is great so far..EXCEPT the remote locking doesn't work properly (or it could be me)
Ive had it a month and it seems to only lock and unlock with the remote every second time or so...Sometimes I just have to use the key to unlock the door I can't see any rhyme or reason why...Yes I have studied the Manual but can't figure it out...It happens with both remotes too.....Could it be a transmitter battery fault? Or is it something to do with the security...Please help a noob

Thanks DA.....I will replace the batteries and see what happens...
I bought it used from a (cough cough)Toyota dealer on the Sunshine Coast and I am now in Brisbane...I did have them fit after market cruise control to it so thought it might be connected with that....anybody else had battery problems or anything similar with their 05 remotes?

On some Mazda's, the first press to unlock only unlocks the front drivers door. If you press it twice quickly, then all doors unlock. Its a safety feature that is built in.

Is this the problem that your referring to?

    oh okay then.

I say that because on the CX9, first press unlocks just drivers door. A quick second press then unlocks all other doors. When we first got the car, i thought there was something wrong with the central locking because it wouldn't open any other door. Then i found out it was a safety feature.

:-) im glad it has that because i don't want creepy axe murderers getting in beside me.

My wife's 121 had trouble unlocking & locking the RHS rear door. Took it to Grand Prix Mazda & they put new batteries in both remotes & cleaned the contacts on all the actuators & said all OK now ($85). Two weeks later I took it back for the same thing - they cleaned the contacts on the RHS rear door & said now all OK ($33). Two weeks later - same thing again, but this time I went to spare parts & bought a new actuator ($65). Half an hour & I took out the old & put in the new - No problems since (9 months ago).

Graz, that's not working properly. It should be one press, one result. Change the batteries methinks.
