New or Old Mazda 6?

I know there have been some minor cosmetic changes to the Mazda 6 over the years, but the switch in 2008 to the new model was a pretty big one.

Which version do you like the look of the best? The 2002-2007 group or 2008 and onwards?

I have to say I prefer the older models, the newer ones seem a little more "old-manish".

I love mine, so much sleeker and new-age than the old model..

Although I will admit the old model do appear to have more 'modability' at present, but the new model will catch up

I just bought a brand new Mazda 3 but nearly purchased a 2nd hand current shape Mazda 6 for an extra 3K. The current model looks way better then the previous one imo.

Come on! The the older Mazda 6 MPS from a few years ago has to be the best looking car they've come out with... In the 6 anyway.

the new one is growing on me, but i think the first model is much more universally good looking. where the new one is a bit more polarized, you either love it or hate it.

They are all well-designed cars...

For the old model... I prefer the lux sports bodykit and interior of the pre-facelift model. But I like the dark head/tail-lights, 17" rims and one-bar sports grill of the facelift model.
Not a fan of the chrome handles...

I love the look of the new Lux Sports, but not the rims.
And I'm not keen on the interior.

I think the old model has a more timeless look... while the new one is very concept-like.

I fell in love with the GG1031 shape when I first saw it. The GG1032 is a far better vehicle, and should have been the one they initially released.
The GH shape does not excite me at all, unfortunately. I especially don't like the font size in the speedo and tacho. My 2c worth.

Much prefer the 1st generation 6. While the new 6 still looks similar the disigners have basically 'squared' or 'flattened' off a lot of the flowing curves. Also I am not a fan of the increase in size - if I wanted a car that big I would buy a (shock, horror) Camry. Thank god the disigners haven't given the 6 the same 'smiley' face as the 3 - yet.

At least ours can take non-premium fuel

...not that I use that in my precious vehicle anyways

I personally think the older 6 looks more 'boxy' than the current.. the non-smiley front was one of the main factors I chose a 6 over a 3 as well... they look retarded

i've had both and reckon the new one looks best but I would only ever buy the Lux sports model. I agree it has started to look a bit more "old mansey" but I like it like that. Rather that than the usual boy racer stuff. I don't like the standard Lux sports wheels so thats why I went after market. The only problem is it is getting too hard to tell the models apart.

For those who didn't grow up with Japanime/mangga, the new (current) 6 may look more full on... but for those like me...

The old 6 is a car.

The new 6 is a RIDE! (think transformer-mobile)

ummm I grew up with anime and manga and i still think it's too full on. the new 6 looks great at some angles. at other angles, it's just plain ugly and doesn't flow. a gen 1 lux sport hatch has got to be one of the hottest 4door saloon around.

in my experience, everyone likes the look of the gen1 6, whereas its a bit more subjective with the new gen

Though I am biased, I too prefer the look for the GG1032 6. Don't like the rims of the 1st gen 6 lux sports. The new 6 looks classy, but I agree that the GG series are more universally liked. Would prefer mine over the new ones. Can't comment on the interior as I haven't seen the new models in detail.

I prefer the new shape. But im slightly dissapoined with the interior. They could have been a bit more daring.

I've got the very last of the 2007 luxury sports hatches and love it far more than the current model equivalent.
