    EGR Valve CEL problem

    Hey Gang
Has anyone here had problems with the EGR Valve giving out error codes?
Iam getting one for my Mazda6 wagon and I've removed the EGR valve and cleaned it out (it wasn't very dirty anyway) and its still coming up.
I ran the motor while I had the top of the sensor off and pressed down on the EGR Valve spring to activate it and the sensor clicked down and turned the motor off, so the sensor works also.
Iam stumped as to what the problem could be, so I just want to know if anyone else has had a similar error code come up on theirs and what they did about it.

    thanks

seemed like a popular issue in the US. Only solution was to replace it unfortunately.

Take it to mazda and confirm that it is most definitely the EGR valve.

Yeah, I saw the dramas they had over there. But it seemed to be mainly their diesel models.

I've had the codes read off the ECU which say that its the EGR valve.

But yeah, I think Iam gonna have to take it to Mazda to get them to have a look over it and see what they think.
