New Mazda6 Facelift Confirmed For Australia

New Mazda6 Facelift Confirmed For Australia
Category: Models
27/01/10

Mazda Australia has confirmed Australia’s favourite imported medium car Mazda6 will receive a facelift in 2010, with the new range adding design and specification upgrades and an all-new Touring wagon.

Set to make its global debut at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, facelift Mazda6 is due to arrive in Australia around autumn boasting an evolved exterior design in keeping with Mazda6’s ‘emotional and sporty’ original design theme.

Specific exterior design upgrades will incorporate Mazda’s expressive signature ‘family face’, a look in keeping with other new Mazda vehicles including New Generation Mazda3 and CX-7. Redesigned front headlamps, taillights and alloy wheels contribute to New Mazda6’s evolved exterior guise.

Like its award-winning predecessor, New Mazda6 will continue to be the only medium car in Australia to offer a choice of three body styles, sedan, hatch and wagon. The introduction of the all-new Touring wagon with leather means Australian buyers will now have even more choice when deciding which Mazda6 best fits their lifestyle.

Engines remain unchanged with Mazda6’s impressive 2.5 litre petrol and 2.2 litre turbodiesel engines powering the facelift model. Mazda6’s MZR-CD 2.2 litre four-cylinder common-rail turbodiesel engine continues to offer class-leading torque of 400Nm and outstanding fuel economy of 5.9 litres per 100km.

In the three years since the launch of the second-generation Mazda6, the popular medium car has received a number of prestigious Australian automotive awards. Recent awards include Best Medium Car as voted by the Carsales Network and Drive.com.au.

so, from the sounds of this, I can just buy a new front grille and call my car a 2010 model :P

It looks nothing like the 'family face' - although the mazda badge is massive, it doesnt look like its smiling at you

Mazda6 facelift for Australia
January 27, 2010 by Adam Marshall

On the 26th of January Caradvice reported that the Japanese version of the Mazda6 would receive a facelift, it has now been confirmed by Mazda Australia that our Mazda6 will receive the same facelift and upgrades, as well as an all new Touring wagon.

The exterior upgrades follow the rest of the Mazda range with the signature ‘family face’, more in line with the CX-7 than the Mazda3, a new design for the front headlights, taillights and alloy wheels help refresh the look of the Mazda6.

Mazda6 is the only medium sized car in Australia to offer a choice of three body styles, sedan, hatch and wagon. The all new Touring wagon offers leather and is a step up in luxury from the standard Classic wagon.

Engines remain the same, the 2.5 litre petrol and the 2.2 litre turbodiesel with class leading torque of 400Nm with fuel economy of 5.9 litres per 100km.
